(dailynews.com) County firefighters battled a small brushfire in Acton that scorched between 10 and 13 acres of grass Sunday, according to a dispatch supervisor.

The fire near the northbound 14 Freeway at Red Rover Mine Road was reported at 3:04 p.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Melanie Flores.

By 4:30 p.m., firefighters had “stopped the forward rate of spread,” but there is not full containment, Flores said.

No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, she said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation, Flores said.
