LASD Special Victims Bureau Detectives Arrest Santa Clarita High School Basketball Coach for Molesting 8 Children

In August 2018, Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau began investigating an allegation of child molestation involving a high school basketball coach and a child he had coached at a high school in Santa Clarita.   Over the course of the investigation, seven additional victims were identified and interviewed by detectives.  All of the victims were coached by the suspect during his employment as a basketball coach at several high schools in the Santa Clarita Valley.   The incidents occurred over a period of several years, dating back to 2008. 
 
As a result of the investigation, the suspect, Jeremy Haggerty, was arrested during the morning hours of Thursday, September 13, 2018.He is currently in the custody of the Sheriff’s Department with a bail set at $1.2 million dollars. His arraignment date is scheduled for Monday, September 17, 2018.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department - Special Victims Bureau is tasked with investigating the sexual and physical abuse of children and felonious sexual assaults involving adult victims.
