The Santa Clarita City Council recently adopted a resolution to authorize the City Manager to offer a $5,000 reward in exchange for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fatal hit-and-run of a 15-year-old girl, Desiree Lawson.
Lawson was crossing the street on Sierra Highway, south of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country on December 26, 2016, at approximately 8:40 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle. Investigators have still been unable to locate the hit and run driver that left the scene of the accident. The driver fled the scene, without stopping to render aid, and has not come forth to authorities.
This reward is in addition to the $20,000 reward being offered by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for information regarding the person or persons involved.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or provide anonymous tips to L.A. Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS
