As we fall into autumn, the days are shorter and we’re starting to enjoy cooler weather. Now is the time to adjust your irrigation to accommodate the change in seasons and select trees to plant in your yard, so that you’ll enjoy their benefits come next spring! Not sure how or where to start? SCV Water’s free monthly gardening classes will help you learn more about irrigation and tree selection.

A healthy, beautiful landscape depends upon matching your landscape with the types of efficient irrigation your grass and plants need. Come learn about Irrigating a Sustainable Landscape on Thursday, October 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Participants will learn about irrigation system design and operation basics including drip irrigation and new high efficiency spray technology.

Trees not only provide clean air, they add depth and dimension to your landscape and enhance neighborhoods with colors and textures. Join us Saturday, October 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to learn about Trees for the SCV. You’ll come away from our class knowing the types and proper maintenance practices of a variety of trees that do well in the SCV.
