(dailynews.com) — Los Angeles County firefighters continued efforts to put out a second-alarm brushfire in Valencia that has charred about 20 acres, authorities said.

The fire at Henry Mayo Drive and Commerce Center Way, near Route 126 and west of Six Flags Magic Mountain, was reported at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. Ron Singleton.

As of 10:15 p.m., the blaze was 75 percent contained, Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo said.

The department initially dispatched 19 engines and three water-dropping helicopters to battle the flames, Marrujo said

The California Highway Patrol temporarily shut down the No. 2 lane on Route 126 and issued a SigAlert at 7:04 p.m. It was canceled just before 10 p.m. when the battalion chief notified the CHP that all fire trucks were off the roadway and would remain in the dirt area overnight, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.

No structures were threatened and there were no injuries reported, Singleton said.
