Assemblyman Scott Wilk’s, R- Santa Clarita, AB 2551 unanimously passed the legislature yesterday. It now heads to the Governor for his signature. AB 2551 establishes greater transparency regarding the fiscal impact of local bond measures.

“I thank my colleagues for passing this common sense measure and I look forward to the Governor’s support. It’s important to empower voters by displaying the true cost of local bond measures,” said Wilk.

Assembly Bill 2551 applies the non-partisan Legislative Analyst’s Office’s process for General Obligation Bond to local bonds by including the ultimate cost of the bond to the state on the ballot pamphlet. This will allow voters to be fully informed of the complete cost of a proposed bond measure.
