The City of Santa Clarita’s Canyon Country Community Center is kicking off 2014 with “Showcase Week,” featuring five days full of the Center’s most popular youth programs. Hosted January 6-10, 2014 for kids ages 5-12, this special week will highlight the top offerings available at the Center throughout the year, allowing new and returning members to experience free or low-cost indoor winter fun.

Showcase Week begins on Monday, January 6 with Savvy Science. Held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., this hands-on experience will include experiments and simple science investigations that can be easily recreated at home. The fun continues on Tuesday, January 7 with Beginner Youth Karate from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. This unique sports class shows youth the basics of karate while incorporating the Center’s cutting-edge XerPro Sports Wall to enhance speed and reaction time. Savvy Science and Beginner Youth Karate are each $5 per class.

On Wednesday, January 8, kids can create and take home a one-of-a-kind winter masterpiece with the Crazy Crafts Class, held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. High-energy teambuilding activities will take center stage with XerPro Wall Sports Fun on Thursday, January 9 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Featuring the only interactive wall of its kind in L.A.
