The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, will kick-off the 2016 season in March with an exciting lineup of swing dance, free live performances, classic cars, Irish culture and more.

On March 3, JAM Sessions hosted by the Ford Theatre Foundation, will bring dancing and original live music to Old Town Newhall. JAM Sessions will feature the Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association, as they teach residents to swing dance from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by live music from the Big Butter Jazz Band to practice newly learned dance moves until 9:30 p.m. JAM Sessions will take place on the patio area of the Old Town Newhall Library, located at 24500 Main Street.

Meanwhile on March 3 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Repertory East Playhouse, located at 24266 Main Street, ten performers will take the stage for ten minutes each and share their live theatre pieces, dances, monologues or music at 10 by 10. Performers include Raja Michael, The Society Improv Troupe, Mike Terry, Clint Whitman, Sam Feirstein, Daniel Holecheck and Dave Holecheck, Steve Saracino, Abel Gallardo, Isadora O’Boto, and Jeff Johnson. 

 From 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on March 10, the Revved Up, presented by State Farm, car show cruises onto Main Street with a fleet of classic pre-1980’s VW’s. Residents can enjoy a live band, food trucks and adult beverages provided by Persia Lounge. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for Revved Up can apply online.

Meanwhile, local songwriters will perform their original work at Note by Note in the Newhall Refinery, located at 24258 Main Street. Performers interested in Note by Note can apply online.

The popular SENSES block party is back in Old Town Newhall from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on March 17 with Luck o’ the Irish! The free event will feature live Celtic rock music by Ken O’Malley and the Twilight Lords, grub from gourmet food trucks, green beer and whiskey.

Thursdays@Newhall’s March events conclude with the ARTree Speaker Series on March 24. From 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Old Town Newhall Library.

Also on March 24, The SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series with Mike Beck, an engaging acoustic solo artist, will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Repertory East Playhouse. Tickets are available here.
