For nearly 26 years the City of Santa Clarita has provided funds to community organizations that support innovative and crucial programs and projects in Santa Clarita through the Community Services and Arts Grants program. On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, the Santa Clarita City Council approved the 2016 Community Services and Arts Grants Committee’s program funding to 28 local organizations.

The Grant Committee selected Community Benefit as the priority funding focus area for this year’s grant program and chose to continue previous funding limits of up to $5,000 per Community Services grant award and up to $7,500 per Arts grant award. The City Council made $150,000 in funding available for the grant program. The committee received 25 Community Service Grant applications and 13 Arts Grant applications.

·         Santa Clarita Master Chorale, Inc. Santa Clarita Presents 2015-2016 Concert Series

·         Santa Clarita Philharmonic – 2016-2017 Concert Series

·         Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival – Fall Elementary School Tour – Scrooge’s Long Night

·         Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra – Prelude to Winds and Enhancement of SCVYO

·         The ARTree Community Arts Center – Nurturing Occasions for Creativity

·         Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley – Victims Advocacy Program (VAP)

·         Gibbon Conservation Center – Build a Handicap – Accessible Walkway

·         Help the Children – Needed Equipment for the Food Program

·         Pleasantview Industries, Inc. – Shipping and Receiving Equipment

·         Samuel Dixon Family Health Center, Inc. – Val Verde, Newhall and Canyon Country Health Centers

·         Santa Clarita Track Club, SOAR Program  – Newhall Expansion Initiative

·         Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry – Nutrition/Calcium Supplements for Senior Outreach

·         Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society – Safety Inspection and Upgrade of Pardee House

·         SCV Mayor’s Committee for Employment of Individuals with Disabilities – Marketing and Outreach

·         Single Mothers Outreach, Inc. – Intervention Services to Children and Disadvantaged Single Parents

·         Straightening Reins Foundation – Round per Expansion (Expansion of Counseling Area)
