Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station served a search and arrest warrant this morning in the 25900 block of Moreno Drive in Valencia. The warrant was issued after a deputy from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station reportedly saw a private citizen conducting an apparent traffic enforcement stop using his personal vehicle and flashing red and blue mounted lights. A Valencia man is behind bars today suspected in more than 20 incidents of air gun related vandalisms and assaults in Saugus, Canyon Country, and Valencia dating back to August 2009. Detectives had been working the case but had little to go on after 18 incidents occurred during an eight day period in August 2009 and the crimes just suddenly stopped.  (more…)

Detectives from the City of Santa Clarita/Sheriff’s COBRA Unit have been actively investigating a stabbing incident and melee which occurred at a summer party on Sunday, July 19th, 2009.  On that night, patrol deputies were called to Henry Mayo Hospital after 2:00 a.m. to reports that the hospital staff were treating multiple people with stab wounds and other injuries.  (more…)

Missing person, Tomas Guillermo Garcia, has been found.  He was located early this morning by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department- Rampart Community Police Station.  He was in good health and has been returned to the care of a Santa Clarita senior living facility. Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station COBRA team are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at 8:20 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009 at CVS Pharmacy located at 25880 McBean Parkway in Valencia. The male suspect, pictured here, is being sought for questioning only in connection with the robbery.  The suspect entered the CVS Pharmacy and stood in line with merchandise. When he reached the cashier, he lifted his shirt displaying a black handgun and demanded that the cashier put money in a bag. (more…)

A Santa Clarita resident and deputies put an end to a burglary crime spree involving as many as 30 daytime residential burglaries occurring in Saugus, Bridgeport, North Park, Valencia, and Northbridge dating back to April of this year.  Detectives from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s Burglary and Theft team have been actively investigating a number of these daytime burglaries for the past several months which all had similar characteristics. The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is advising Valencia residents in the area of McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard in Valencia, to be extra vigilant in reporting suspicious persons loitering in the area during the early morning hours. Detectives from the station are investigating a report of an attempted sexual assault, which occurred at 5:25 a.m., this morning, September 11, 2009, in a parking lot on the southwest corner of that intersection. Deputies working the Santa Clarita Valley Station desk received numerous reports of gunfire in a condo complex in the 23800 Block of Del Monte Drive, Valencia.  As patrol deputies arrived at the location they heard what turned out to be the last of the gunshots. (more…)

Neighborhood Watch strikes again!  An alert neighbor noticed some odd behavior, dirt bikes stacked near a car on her street and a person she didn’t recognize.  She contacted the Sheriff’s Station.  Deputies arrived and found property stacked in the driveway of one of the homes in the 27400 block of Westover Way, Valencia.  They began looking for the suspicious person and then saw three men piling more property in the driveway.
