The event was clearly the most spectacular display to date with a crowd, estimated by Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies, to be between 6000-7000. USFlag.jpgJust got back from Rioux Park where we finished the set-up for tonight’s show. I met with several great volunteers, Rom Mechsner, Ronnie DeCeaser and Rick Ryan, at 5:30 AM in front of the Park. We put out the cones in the street for handicapped, volunteer and VIP parking; got the trash cans  distributed around the Park; and put the barricades in place. (more…)

In recent years there has been a perception that this event is paid for by the Homeowners Association (HOA) and therefore it is an entitlement of Stevenson Ranch residents; a birthright if you will. redfireworks.JPGOn Tuesday morning we held our first safety meeting which usually takes place a week or so before the 4th of July. The meeting took place at 8:00 AM at the Dr. Richard Rioux Memorial Park in Stevenson Ranch and was attended by representatives from the LA County Parks Department; Parks Maintenance; LA County Fire Department; the Pyrotechnics Crew Chief, with Sheriff and CHP updates and various volunteers.
