I received some very nice emails from some well known folks around town commenting on my Castaic High School commentary. It was interesting to hear to such good comments considering that I had written a harsh piece on the shenanigans going on at the Hart School Board.

Now it would be nice to see a hard hitting investigative series of stories in the local paper. There is so much dirty laundry buried in the Hart School District that it is high time that it is hung out for all to see. It’s time that the school board takes responsibility for the folly that has been made of building a new high school in Castaic.

By the way, there are sites completely suitable for a new school in Castaic!! The Hart School Board should be engaging those property owners now and fast tracking the process. It they don’t than you can be sure that there will not be a High School ready in 2013.

On another note, I finally kicked off the redesign of The Beacon last night during a meeting with our web master. Hopefully in about a month’s time we will launch the new site which will have more information and some surprises.

I’ve been talking about the redesign for months and finally pulled the trigger. Part of the procrastination was just my process of visualizing what it was that I wanted the new site to look like, how much new functionality and information it should have.

In the meantime, there will be some small changes happening to The Beacon over the next week or so. Those changes will be flagged in some “notes to reader” posts so that we can keep our ever growing readers fully informed.
