The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is joining in partnership with the Special Olympics Santa Clarita Valley for the Third Annual Law Enforcement Polar Plunge event. Several Deputy Sheriffs, being dubbed as Super Polar Plungers, from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station will volunteer their time to take one polar plunge every hour for 24 hours straight, from Friday, May 2, 2008 - 9:00 a.m. to Saturday, May 3, 2008 - 9:00 a.m., in the pristine and frigid waters of the Wave Pool at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor - 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway Valencia, all to benefit a great cause.
The event will culminate with a Grand Finale “BIG PLUNGE” occurring at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning, May 3, 2008. All community members are invited to take the BIG PLUNGE with the deputies, Search and Rescue members, Sheriff’s Posse members, Sheriff Explorers, professional staff, station volunteers, and other sheriff’s station representatives who will be in attendance.
In addition, those who choose to take the final BIG PLUNGE with the deputies and other community members, and who also donate $100.00 to the Santa Clarita Valley Special Olympics, will receive a t-shirt, breakfast refreshments, and admission to spend the rest of opening day, Saturday May 3, 2008, enjoying all the water attractions at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.
