Tue 31 Jul 2007
A Health Care Forum will be held on tonight from 7-9 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 24902 Orchard Village Road, Valencia. A panel of experts will discuss the health care crisis and the Single Payer solution, SB 840, the California Health Insurance Reliability Act, currently moving through the California Legislature. A representative from Senator Sheila Kuehl’s office will speak as well as a speaker from the California Nurses Association and OneCareNow, the statewide organization working for the passage of this bill.
“I hope people will attend the Forum on July 31,” organizer Carole Lutness said, “Many people have misconceptions about the Single Payer system that has proven to be so effective in other developed countries. Our health care system is the most expensive in the world and has the worst health care outcomes of these developed countries. It’s time we get a system that works for us.” For more information call 661-755-3772.
