SCV Economic Development Corp. mobilizing to save Enterprise Zone
Posted by admin under Business , Santa Clarita Valley , State 1 CommentThe Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is asking local business owners, community leaders and residents of the Santa Clarita Valley to help save the recently expanded Enterprise Zone. The EDC is mobilizing an effort to get letters written and those interested involved in preserving hundreds of millions of dollars in benefits for SCV businesses.
The new Santa Clarita Valley Enterprise Zone is a critical program for creating jobs, supporting capital investment, decreasing poverty and helping our valley stay competitive. Despite the program’s proven effectiveness, Governor Jerry Brown has proposed eliminating Enterprise Zones to help close the state’s chronic budget crisis.
The EDC especially needs support letters and testimony about how the Enterprise Zone has helped local businesses. Templates are being made available with suggested talking points and additional assistance is available through the EDC.
Those interested can visit www.jobsandsafecommunities.com to join the Enterprise Zone support coalition; Create & submit a support letter using the available template and to learn more about the Enterprise Zone program
