Deputies responded to a burglary call at the Christ Lutheran Church. While they were responding to the call for service, they received an update that a witness was detaining a possible suspect. The deputies arrived to find the witness detaining the suspect on the ground. Further investigation revealed that the witness who works at the church and happens to be a local boxing coach, saw the suspect committing the burglary, chased, caught and detained him until deputies arrived.

Deputies recovered stolen merchandise from the suspect’s vehicle.

The one suspect is in custody at Santa Clarita Valley Station for burglary with bail set at $20,000. The second suspect is still outstanding.
