Do the Traditional Family Values we grew up with really matter? Were these values sold to us based on religious beliefs or do they make sense? We need to really be paying attention to the Family Unit. The family unit has been fragile for years. The “traditional family” that we grew up with has been under scrutiny since the 60′s. Remember free love, free sex, no war… No Commitments? Remember?

Joe Messina remembers growing up and hearing “Kids are so resilient”. He believes that was wrong and that we are reaping the benefits of giving in to that thought process. 

Divorces are still on the rise. Single parent families are occurring at an alarming rate. Children from single parent homes often have MANY more issues adjusting and getting along than those coming from a “Traditional Family Unit”. Now we are going to introduce gay and lesbian marriages into the mix? Are we in for even more trouble; maybe?

Guest Donald Goodman, LCSW works with Gay and Lesbian couples who either have or adopt children. He will be discussing the challenges these couples and children face.
