Arrested.jpg(From the latimes.com) A 24-year old Palmdale resident has been accused of vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving after a fatal car crash in Santa Clarita early Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol. Michael Hemperly was at the wheel of a 2001 Porsche about 2:10 a.m. when he lost control of the car and crashed into a tree, the CHP said in a statement.

Passenger Marissa Hodges, 26, of Rancho Cucamonga was killed.

The crash occurred on Bouquet Canyon Road just north of Texas Canyon Road. Bouquet Canyon is a winding road north of the 14 Freeway.

Hemperly was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 5 a.m.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, the CHP said.
