In the recount of the 608 remaining ballots that took place this morning at Santa Clarita City, Councilman Frank Ferry beat out challenger David Gauny by a paltry 32 vote margin. As previously reported, by Ferry and Gauny were 69 votes apart after last Tuesday, April 13, 2010 City Council election.

With the remaining ballots now counted Gauny received 6,478 votes to Ferry’s 6,510 of all votes cast in this election cycle. A margin of only 32 votes between the two candidates will no doubt assure a total recount of the election results. The City of Santa Clarita should initiate a recount immediately to quell any questions that may surround the ballot counting process.
