singapore_PostcardThe city of Singapore is absolutely stunning! Having spent a few days in Hanoi, Singapore is a complete contrast. Hanoi, Vietnam is a struggling emerging market and Singapore to me is the jewel of the orient. It is a powerful financial center and a model of urban planning, architecture and a nothing short of a showcase city.

Honestly I have to say that Singapore is probably the most perfect city on the planet. It’s sparkling clean; driving around to meetings the last day and half here there was virtually no litter and no graffiti. Trust me, I was driven around the City extensively and did not see one instance of graffiti at all.

From the moment we stepped off the flight at Singapore Airport it was as if you were in the most fanatically manicured resort; lawns, trees, flowers were all well maintained and exceedingly beautiful. Everywhere you looked there were striking vistas.

Why pray tell? Because they strictly enforce their laws with fines and jail time to all that break those laws. What is truly astonishing is the fact that everyone that lives in Singapore seems to have been trained over time to obey the laws, most of which are common sense, and they take extreme pride in their city.

Singapore is a marvel to look at and I would encourage anyone who has not been to Singapore to add it to your bucket list! My only regret is that I only had two days in this island city paradise.
