(From the AP) U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer refused Monday to answer criticism from her Republican rivals that she is too partisan and too free-spending with taxpayers’ money, saying she will wait to respond until voters choose her opponent in the June GOP primary.
Former Hewlett Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina and former congressman Tom Campbell both leveled accusations at the 18-year Democratic incumbent as they formally filed their candidacy papers Monday.
Campbell said in a statement that he wants to reverse Boxer’s “suicidal fiscal policies that … spends our children’s money before they ever have a chance to cast a vote.” Fiorina called Boxer “bitterly partisan and ineffective.”
