earthquake.jpg(From the AP) A pair of small earthquakes have hit California’s eastern desert, but no injuries or damages have been reported. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first of the temblors had a magnitude of 3.3 and struck at 11:54 p.m. Monday. It was centered 4 miles east-northeast of Coso Junction.

The second earthquake, with a 3.0 magnitude, happened about two hours later at 1:06 a.m. Tuesday. The USGS says the second quake’s epicenter is about a mile from where the first one was reported. Coso Junction is about 140 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

A light earthquake has shaken a rural area of San Diego County. The U.S. Geological Survey says the 4.0-magnitude quake occurred at 8:18 p.m. Monday. It was centered 14 miles east-southeast of Julian. There are no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
