Vision Builders Group is nearing completion on Real Life Church, a new 42,000 square feet “green” building that features a 1,200 seat sanctuary with semi-circular wrap-around stadium seating, an outdoor amphitheater, a coffee house, a state-of-the art children’s facility and administrative offices. Completion: Easter 2010. Architect: Taylor Teter Partnership. The first “green” project of its kind in the State of California and the City of Santa Clarita is en route to a coveted LEED, Gold certification.
When Real Life Church acquired nearly 10 acres near the corner of McBean and Newhall Ranch Road, it was soon discovered their design would be influenced by the site conditions.
The plan soon became to excavate the site, “dig deep” and create a building recessed into a gradually sloping hillside, lending itself to “green” building techniques and eventually Gold certification. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the construction of Green buildings.
A sizeable undertaking for the team at VISION BUILDERS GROUP (VBG), this project employed several hundred trades people bringing a boost to the local economy, poured 3,500 cubic yards of structural concrete, erected 250 tons of structural steel, within an 18 month construction schedule. Self-performing the critical construction activities of concrete and drywall, using innovative and cutting-edge concrete formwork techniques and detailed scheduling and coordination tools, VBG has proven that no construction job is too complex to stay within budget and on schedule.
VISION BUILDERS GROUP was established in 1989 by a talented group of construction professionals to “Build structures and relationships that last a lifetime”. The VBG team is active in the community, our local churches and organizations such as SCV Young Life, Zoe Children’s Home, Prison Fellowship, Foundation for His Ministry and Voice of the Martyrs.
