wine.JPGThe Santa Clarita Valley residents are encouraged to attend the Santa Clarita City Council meeting Tuesday night, February 9, at 6:00 PM to support Pulchella Winery and speaking out on the unnecessary permitting that the City is requesting in order for the business to move into Old Town Newhall and open the first SCV tasting room.  The permit is not an industry standard according to the owners, and the winery owners are asking for your help in letting the city to know it.

If Pulchella is forced to file for this permit, locals may never get a tasting room in Newhall.  This will set a path for future winemakers so the decision will have a profound impact on the local economy. Will the City have the vision to let wineries to sprout in the Old Town Newhall district or will this slip through the cracks?

Pulchella Winery, owned by local residents Steve Lemley and Nate Hasper, focuses on producing very small quantities of hand crafted, ultra premium wines from the highest quality Paso Robles grapes.  http://www.pulchellawinery.com/

As of Tuesday 2/9/ 2010- City comes to its senses, now will help Pulchella Winery

The owners of the Pulchella Winery are thanking all the supporters and the local blogs that rallied to their support.  As a result of all the letters, blog and website posts, emails and calls, there was enough visibility brought to the City that they are now working to provide the Pulchella Winery with the proper method in which they will need to open their tasting room in Old Town Newhall.
