Roads in the burn areas of the Angeles National Forest have re-open to through traffic today, Monday, December 14, 2009. Portions of Angeles Forest Highway, Angeles Crest Highway, Big Tujunga Canyon Road, and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road were closed to all traffic Friday night, after weather service forecasts of a major rain system passing though the Station Fire area.
The following roads are open:
- Big Tujunga Canyon Road, between L.A. City line and Angeles Forest Highway
- Angeles Forest Highway, between Sierra Highway and Big Tujunga Canyon Road
- Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road, between Angeles Forest Highway and Angeles Crest Hwy (SR-2)
Please Note: While access to Upper Big Tujunga from Angeles Forest Highway will be possible, motorists will not be able to connect to Angeles Crest Highway because of the continued closure of that highway by Caltrans.
Delays on our roads should be expected due to continued efforts by Public Works to remove storm related rock, mud, and debris along the sides of roads and clearing of drainage facilities.
