CrimeScene.jpgIt all started months ago with the anonymous tip from a community member describing a high number of guests who arrive at a Castaic home and only stay a few minutes.  Apparent drug sales were occurring right out in front of the house.  After several months of investigation, Narcotics Detectives linked another home in the Castaic area to this investigation.

Yesterday, on Thursday, detectives served search warrants at two homes, one located in the 27500 block of Violin Canyon Drive and the other in the 31400 block of Arrow Point in Castaic.  Inside those homes they recovered 3 guns, a large amount of cash, several ounces of methamphetamine and ten children aged six months to 17 years old.

Three residents of Castaic were arrested and transported to Santa Clarita Valley Station: Midalia Hernandez, F/19, for possession of methamphetamine who is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail; Manuel Arciniega, M/35, for possession of a fraudulent document who is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail; Rafael Arciniega, M/46, for possession of methamphetamine for sale who is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail; and James Sterns, M/49, resident of Frazier Park, also arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale and who is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

The ten children were taken into protective custody and released to the Department of Children and Family Services for investigation and placement.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.
