Cooper Canyon is considered by the guidebooks to be the most beautiful hike in all of Southern California. Its shear granite cliffs and pines look very much like the scenery you would see in the Eastern Sierra. We will also see the Lower end of Little Rock Creek that flows year round, and has wild trout in it. It’s gorgeous. The Community Hiking Club will be traversing this beautiful area on Saturday, July 12th.
Because this is an altitude hike, it is a little more difficult. The RT is about 10 miles. The first 4 are easy and mostly downhill. The last 4 miles are uphill. Bring a lunch, lots of water, snacks, sunscreen, hat and whatever you will need for a full day on the trail. Plan to return around 4. Please meet on Saturday morning, July 12th, at the OUTSIDE of the Towsley Canyon Gate before 8:00 AM for departure and carpooling at 8:00AM.
