Two men died after a head-on crash Friday afternoon on Highway 126 near Fillmore, authorities said. Henry Charles Farner, 22, of Fillmore, and Kenneth Nemson, 58, of Elk Grove, died at the scene, a quarter-mile east of Old Telegraph Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both drivers were alone in their vehicles when they collided for unknown reasons reports the Ventura County Star. The CHP reported the crash at 4 p.m., and Highway 126 was shut down in both directions.

Farner was driving a pickup truck east on Highway 126, and Nemson was westbound, driving a sedan. The pickup landed on its roof in the center left-turn lane of the highway, while the sedan came to rest in the eastbound lanes. Both vehicles had major front-end damage and debris was scattered across the roadway.
