Update: IFA and Options Comparison Reports Progressing, Time Frame may be Extended
Posted by admin under Annexation , City Formation , Local , West Ranch Town Council Comments OffThe two consulting firms hired to complete the Initial Feasibility Analysis (IFA) and the Community Options Comparison reports have made good progress compiling the initial background information that is needed. The effort necessary to construct demographic estimates by zone required more time and effort than we originally anticipated, however this work was essential prior to obtaining cost and revenue estimates from the County. Both consultants have been collaborating on the data requests, which will go out in the next day or so as reported at the September West Ranch Town Council meeting held last night.
While the data requests have taken longer than expected to prepare, they have been formatted in such a way as to improve the likelihood of getting reliable data from the County departments. The collaborative effort between both firms is resulting in a better product, although it does not necessarily also result in time savings!
Both firms are targeting to get preliminary results by the end of October; however, it is possible that they will need to extend this time frame. The County had told the consultants they had no capacity to work on the financials in the month of August because County accounting staff were all 100% allocated to tying out the fiscal year accounting. The timeline, of course, will also depend on the timing and quality of County responses.
