Crime Report: Wednesday’s Drugs, Theft and Felony Robbery
Posted by admin under Crime , Local , Sheriff Comments OffFor the 24 hour period of Wednesday, May 30th, Santa Clarita Valley Personnel issued approximately 76 citations and warnings for traffic, parking and other related traffic offenses including misdemeanors and infractions. Deputies responded to 8 traffic collisions or related incidents.
Station personnel arrested and booked, or field released, 15 adults and detained 4 juveniles on 10 felony and 9 misdemeanor primary charges as summarized below:
Wednesday – May 30, 2007 – 10:50 a.m. – Newhall: Probation compliance search results in arrest- Deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Community Interaction Team (CIT), in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Probation Department, conducted a probation check in the 19800 block of Ellis Henry Court and arrested a Newhall man on several felony drug related charges. Deputies reportedly found marijuana, opium, methadone and concentrated cannabis in the probationer’s possession. He also allegedly had equipment consistent with the sales of marijuana. The suspect, MO/26, was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Cultivation of Marijuana and Possession of Concentrated Cannabis. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail. -ref 10016
Wednesday – May 30, 2007 – 1:30 p.m. – Saugus: A Valencia youth, MA/16, was arrested Wednesday after he reportedly stole an electronic game system from the Saugus Best Buy store. The subject was detained in the parking lot by store personnel until deputies arrived. He was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on misdemeanor Theft charge. He was later released to his mother pending future court proceedings. -ref 10049
Wednesday – May 30, 2007 – 2:20 p.m. – Saugus: A Canyon Country man was arrested on robbery related charges after he reportedly attempted to steal DVD items from the Saugus Best Buy Store. Deputies report that when store employees attempted to detain the suspect, he pushed one of them and ran out of the store. When he was confronted a second time he reportedly punched one of the loss prevention employees. They were eventually able to detain him outside the store until deputies arrived. The suspect, Blaine Blackstone, MW/18, was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on a felony Robbery charge. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. -ref 10037
Wednesday – May 30, 2007 – 5:15 p.m. – Unincorporated L. A. County – Castaic: Deputies arrested a Los Angeles woman and a second female suspect is being sought in connection with a robbery and assault incident that occurred at the Castaic Ralph’s Grocery Store Wednesday evening. Employees report that two suspects entered the store and allegedly ran out taking several grocery items with them. When they were confronted by store employees as they got into an awaiting vehicle, one of the suspects struggled with them and the other, which is still being sought, recklessly drove the vehicle near the employees in an apparent attempt to free her accomplice and get away. Store employees managed to hold the one suspect until deputies arrived. The suspect, Christhawnda Wilson, FB/27, was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on a felony Robbery charge. She also had a warrant and is being held in lieu of $60,000 bail. The second suspect is described as a female black, black hair and brown eyes, 5’04″-5’05″ tall, 120-125 pounds, driving a 2007 white Jeep Cherokee.
